In the HR front:
-the present list of guests has been confirmed by the HOD
-it is also expected to be extended
In the EVENTS front:
-the events "4th DIMENSION" and "REELS OF REALITY" have been finalized
-more ideas have been proposed.
VERVE MEET:
-VERVE COVER DESIGN and MASCOT DESIGN competition is to be held
-presently SYNAPTIC SIGNAL has been shelved
-pro-BTX events have been planned.
AD MEET:
-REGISTRATION FEE of Rs. 300/head finalized
-ways of canvasing the event has been discussed

EVENTS meet - 16/9/2011

Objective: To discuss about the event ‘Reels of Reality’

• It has been decided to have the event ‘Reels of Reality’ as an online event.
• That is, for this event the participants must register online and each team must send their short film about a month prior to our symposium.
• These short films will be screened to the audience on all the three days of our symposium as gap fillers.
• The short film must mainly focus on the current environmental issues.

Ad meet with the HOD - 16/9/2011

• Targets discussed – 500 {300 (cbtians) + 200 (outsiders)}
• Team to start advertising in other colleges from November.
1. Posters required.
2. Questionnaires to take polls and suggestions from other college students to be made ready.
3. Volunteers needed. We split into groups of 5 to visit the colleges. And we have about 20 colleges to cover within the city. So must plan the visits accordingly.
4. Students who are leaving to their native place during winter holidays can carry out the surveys and polls in the colleges in their town.

• The registration fee for outsiders is finalized. It is Rs.300 per person. This covers lunch on all the three days. Participation certificate and a BTX kit are to be given as compliments.
• Accommodation in hostel is not possible. Hospitality team is asked to check out nearby economical lodges where the outsiders could stay.
• HOD recommended Anna FM and Current Science journal for promoting our event.

Minutes of the meeting:

• ·        We have decided to announce a Verve cover design and a mascot design competition to the students of CBT on Monday.

• ·        The idea of reviving the synaptic signal has been shelved for now.

• ·        We are planning a Pro-BTX event, an essay writing competition for second years. The topic will be based on how biotechnology has been depicted in films and how accurately it has been depicted. The best essay will be modified by us and published in the Verve.

• ·        We are not going to ask First years to write articles as recommended by Shankaran sir. Rather we are going to approach M.Tech students, PhD scholars to write for the Verve.

4.presenting ideas.

1) Meeting with Shankaran Sir 

• He approved with the current list and now we plan to extend the list.
• addition of more alumni names to the list 
• also discussed the prospect of a video conference to be conducted in a bioprocess industry.
